The goals of this program are to improve school readiness, encourage literacy, reduce the need for special education services and foster the maintenance of stable families by encouraging positive parenting skills; enhancing parent-child interaction; providing learning opportunities to promote intellectual, physical and social growth; and promoting access to needed community services through a community-school-home partnership that provides parents with information on child development from birth to age five.
Great Start Home Visiting is all about you, your child and your family. Raising a child is not easy, but it's very rewarding. Our trained parent educators may be able to offer suggestions you may not have thought of on ways to help your child gain important learning skills,or maybe some thoughts on how you can make even stronger connections with your child. We're not here to tell you how to be a parent, but to help develop the skills within you so you can help your child grow, develop and have a great start in life.
